ANSWER: Sun Spots knows of no source for an entire newspaper. Some people undoubtedly have old newspapers stashed away in their attics and might offer you one.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: How do I obtain a photocopy of an obit from January 1976? — Dennis Richard, bearly73@hotmail.com

ANSWER: You can look up the obituary on the archive noted in the previous answer, but printing directly from that archive is not possible. If you are good on the computer, there are workarounds ((http://tinyurl.com/3ufnme3, “Google archive printing possible, not easy”).

Or alternatively, you can visit the Lewiston Public Library (www.lplonline.org, 513-3004), which has most of the old Lewiston newspapers on microfiche, from which you can print.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I grew up in Livermore Falls and was wondering if anyone has pictures of the old glove shop, which was on the Livermore side of the bridge. My mother worked there and would like to borrow them. — John Henry, Augusta, 557-1234

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am currently working on a project that consists of gathering older pictures of Lewiston and compiling them all onto a DVD. So far, I’ve gathered about 1,000 pictures of an older Lewiston.
