LIVERMORE FALLS — The director of transportation and grounds for RSU 73 recently passed out a list of needs to school directors that administrators would like to see done in the schools.

Administrators are putting together budgets for 2012-13.

Director Ken Vining said among the needs is $16,038 to replace six entry doors in the old section of the Livermore Elementary School. An addition was built onto the former school about a decade ago.

Requests for work at the Jay Elementary School totals $285,850 which includes $257,649 to replace three sections of the school’s roof. The building is one story and is long with several wings on it.

Other items included replacing carpet with tile, installing exterior soffit and fascia trim, installing a pitched roof on main entrances, installing a  swipe card entry system to the door leading to the playground and building a storage shed for the playground.

At the Spruce Mountain Middle School work needs total $120,132. Listed is roof restoration in eight places at a cost of $108,000. Other work is replacing carpet in the secretary office and upstairs hallway and upgrading gym lights to efficient T-8 fluorescent. The latter is estimated to cost $12,483 with a rebate expected of $1,950 from Efficiency Maine.

Work at the Jay campus of Spruce Mountain High School is estimated to cost $30,817. Of that, $28,577 would pay for upgrading gym lights to efficient T-5 fluorescent. A rebate from Efficiency Maine would be $5,525. Administrators would also like to see a power panel installed in the information technology room at the school.

Some of the high school improvements may be covered under a $1.3 million upgrade for code purposes, among other needed repairs that will need to be done to the Jay school, if voters close the Livermore Falls High School and approve an addition to be built on the Jay school.
