TEMPLE — Members of the Giddy Up & Go 4-H Horse Club are preparing for Saturday’s hay collection to benefit The Double B Equine Rescue in Industry.

Shortly after forming in 2008, the club began supporting the nonprofit shelter on Route 148. Club members are looking for donations of hay, equine supplies, monetary donations or anything horse related that could help.

The Double B Equine Rescue takes in abandoned, abused and neglected horses, and has 18 horses now, the club’s Press Committee said.

The hay-raiser will be held in the morning Feb. 25. Some hay will be picked up Saturday and some before then. The club will pick up any donations throughout this week or on Saturday morning at a time that is best for the donor. Hay and cash donations will then be delivered to Double B.

For donations, contact Giddy Up & Go leader Janine Winn 778-3856 or email j9sfarm@myfairpoint.net. Checks should be made out to Double B Equine Rescue and mailed to the club at P.O. Box 518, Temple, ME 04984.

Giddy-Up & Go 4-H Horse Club has 16 members from Wilton, Chesterville, Industry, Temple, Farmington and Strong.
