NORWAY — A meeting of the Stone-Smart American Legion Unit 82 Auxiliary was held on Feb. 8, with President Thelma Denlinger presiding.

Donations made were to Opportunity Farm, Special Olympics, Blind Camp and for Post Birthday next month.

Americanism chairwoman Barbara Henley spoke about her planned visit to Rowe School for Presidents Day, where she was going to participate in activities with second graders. She also has information for Eagle Scouts scholarships; she will get the information to the Boy Scout Leaders.

Henley reported on the National Presidents Scholarships and the unit voted to do it again this year. Kathy Heary, Rose Moulton and Thelma Denlinger will served on the nomination committee.

The unit will have a box in the hall for donations to mail to two different groups that are serving in Afghanistan. The hall will be open Monday nights for Bingo, anyone can drop items off to help the unit. The troops like snacks and magazines.

The meeting was preceded by a chowder and soup supper with cake for dessert. Beulah Ayer was in charge with husband Richard and Rose Moulton helping.
