Matt Perkins, working for Reynolds Inliner of Orleans, Ind., monitors the progress of the sewer-line rehabilitation work at the corner of Vale and Nichols streets in Lewiston on Wednesday morning. He is partially shrouded by steam that was being pumped into the sewer system to activate a new sewer liner that is laced with an epoxy resin that reacts and hardens when exposed to the steam. It is part of an ongoing program in the city to upgrade the aging sewer lines.
