LEWISTON — A subcommittee of the Twin Cities elected officials will review budget requests for six shared agencies over two weeks in March.

The Lewiston-Auburn Joint Agency Subcommittee released its agendas for two meetings scheduled March 8 and March 14.

The group will review financial requests from six agencies that manage Twin Cities transportation, shared public safety and arts and then report back to their respective councils with funding recommendations.

In the past, the cities have convened a joint meeting of all members of both city councils to hear requests from those groups.

The councilors will review budget requests from the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport, L/A Arts and Great Falls TV at the March 8 meeting in Lewiston City Hall. That meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

The councilors will review budget requests from Lewiston-Auburn Transit Committee, L-A 911 and the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council at 5:30 p.m. March 14 in Auburn Hall.

The subcommittee is made up of two city councilors from each city. For Auburn they are Tizz Crowley of Ward I and Mary Lafontaine of Ward 3. For Lewiston they are Donald D’Auteuil from Ward 2 and Richard Desjardins from Ward 7.

They’ll sit with Lewiston City Administrator Ed Barrett, Auburn Interim City Manager Don Gerrish and the cities’ finance directors as they review budget requests from agencies the cities share.
