AUBURN — Funeral services were held on Wednesday for Donald L. Vachon at The Fortin Group Funeral Home, officiated by Deacon Irenee Richard. Reading from Scripture was given by Celine Dodge, a sister of Donald’s. prayer of the faithful was done by his brother-in-law, Donald Veilleux. Donald’s life was eulogized by his brother-in-law, John Bosse. The Lewiston fire department provided Honor Guards for the wake, funeral and committal services which followed at St. Peter’s Cemetery. The Lewiston and Auburn police departments and fire departments provided escort service to the cemetery in honor of Donald’s service as a Lewiston firefighter. The procession drove past the Central Fire Station in Lewiston, pausing briefly as all his firefighter brethren stood at attention saluting their brother. The urn bearers were firemen and friends of Donald’s, Capt. Paul Fournier, Lt. John Cloutier, Lt. Dave Beaule and Lt. Bill Soucy.
