RUMFORD — The Board of Selectmen will face a variety of agenda items when it meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in Rumford Falls Auditorium.
Under old business, they will decide whether to allow closing a section of Exchange Street in the downtown area for the Farmer’s Market. That has been held along Route 2 in the Labonville parking lot in Mexico.
Under new business, the board will consider approving:
* A mountain biking trail design and plan for 83 acres of town land behind the Public Works garage and River Valley Crossing Mall off Route 2.
* Funding new Envision Rumford signs in the downtown area.
* Placing a charter amendment on the June 12 town meeting ballot.
* Holding a public hearing for the proposed Town Cable Television Ordinance.
* Repairing the Fire Department ladder truck.
* A bid for firefighting gear: five coats and five pants with suspenders.
* A St. Patrick’s Day Parade permit from Le Paresseux Club.
* A liquor license application for Brian’s Bistro.
Additionally, an executive session is planned for union negotiations.
