NORWAY — The Norway Recreation Department and Norway Youth Baseball are teaming up to offer registration times for baseball, softball and tee-ball from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the Norway Town Office, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 10, and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13.
Parents are asked to attend one of these times to obtain important information for their child’s athletic activity. These registration times are for Norway residents only. Anyone living in another town should call the local recreation department for the times and locations of sign-ups.
Baseball is for boys and girls age 6-12 as of April 30. Fees are $30 per player, $45 for two or more players in the same family. Babe Ruth is for age 13-15 and the fee is $100 per player; the baseball family fee does not apply to Babe Ruth.
Softball is for girls age 7-18 as of Jan. 1. Fees are $35 per player. Tee-ball is for boys and girls age 4-7 and the fee is $25 per player.
For baseball and Babe Ruth, make check payable to Norway Youth Baseball. For softball and tee-ball, make check payable to Norway Recreation Department. Family fees do not crossover between baseball, softball and tee-ball. These programs are ‘pay to play,’ no tax dollars are used. All funding comes from registrations and fundraising.
The Norway Recreation Commission is looking for positive coaches who have an understanding of how to teach the fundamentals of tee-ball.
