LEWISTON — Joshua Shea, editor and publisher of Lewiston Auburn Magazine, will be the presenter at the USM Lewiston/Auburn Senior College “Food for Thought” 11:30 luncheon on Friday, March 9.
Shea will lead a discussion on how Lewiston Auburn Magazine, and his other endeavors (creating the Lewiston Auburn Film Festival and serving on the Auburn City Council), are all part of his vision for a better future for Lewiston and Auburn.
A native of Lewiston and resident of Auburn, Shea launched the city lifestyle magazine in April 2010. Advertising sales and subscriptions have vastly exceeded expectations and the Lewiston Auburn Magazine has become one of the best marketing tools for L/A.
The Lewiston Auburn Film Festival, which debuted in 2011, will return this year as a three-day festival on April 13-15.
Shea began his journalism career almost 18 years ago, as a high school senior, in the Sun Journal’s sports department. He worked in various writing and editing capacities for the newspaper for six years before moving to Tokyo, where he had an editing position with the Stars & Stripes newspaper.
He has served on boards of directors for the Great Falls Balloon Festival, Lewiston Auburn Economic Growth Council and Lewiston Education Fund.
He lives in Auburn with wife Melissa and children Katrielle and Kaden.
Senior College, now in its 13th year, presents the monthly 11:30 luncheon program in the Function Room 170 at USM LAC. The cost, which includes lunch, is $7 with advance reservation or $8 at the door. Reservations must be made by noon on March 8 by calling 753-6510. Any late callers will be considered “at the door.”
