Beaucage
LEWISTON — Raynald and May Beaucage of Lewiston celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary recently on Cook Street in Auburn. Party hosts were their children, Janet DuBois and Paul and Leo Beaucage. The couple received cards and gifts from relatives and friends.
The event took place Jan. 22 with breakfast at the Ramada Inn with their three children and their spouses, then to Cook Street, where some of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren greeted them. A corsage and boutonniere was presented to the couple. A special 70th anniversary cake was featured and refreshments were served.
Mr. Beaucage and the former May Dionne were married Jan. 24, 1942, at Ste. Croix Church in Lewiston. Their children and spouses are Andre and Janet DuBois, Paul and Diane Beaucage and Leo and Gail Beaucage.
They also have eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. They are Eric and Tracy Beaucage and daughters, Allyson, Ashley and Amanda of Lewiston; Craig and Carol Beaucage and son, Nathan, of Tyndall AFB in Florida; Alaina Beaucage and Suzette Beaucage of Ladson, S.C.; Timothy and Daesha Beaucage and son, Evan, of Coon Rapids, Minn.; Kevin and Doreen Giguere and daughter, Brooke, of Williamsburg, Va.; Rick and Karen Giguere and sons, Brandon, Kevin, Noah and Zackary of Auburn; Tobey and Amy (Giguere) Wiers and daughter, Britney, and son, Corey of Auburn.
Mrs. Beaucage worked at Bell Moc Shoe and various shoe shops, retiring in 1981 at age 62. She is a member of Ste. Croix Church and in her younger years was involved in numerous church organizations. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, taking photos and printing them on her printer, her CD and DVD players and sharing her crafts with the family.
Mr. Beaucage worked at Philips Elmet, retiring in 1981 at age 62. He is a member of Ste. Croix Church and in his younger years was involved in numerous church organizations. He enjoys reading and always had a project going and was always ready to help whenever the family or friends needed help with small carpentry projects.
They enjoy walking every day and during summer go to the Bates College track and in the winter they go to the Lewiston and Auburn malls.
