LEWISTON – The ArtVan has announced their third annual fundraiser event, “Keep the Arts Rolling!,” to take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Lewiston Public Library in the Callahan Hall, 200 Lisbon St. The event is free and open to the public.

ArtVan is a mobile arts therapy program that delivers creative activities to children and teens who have little or no access to the arts.

The evening will be filled with art, music, amazing foods and more. Entertainment will range from performances by the Somali Bantu Community Drummers, portrait drawing, hula hooping and henna. Foods will be provided by local restaurants including Niki’s Greek Restaurant, The Bread Shack and Lots for Gardens “Kids Cooking Club.” There will be raffles and a silent auction featuring items donated by local artists, businesses and restaurants. All proceeds will benefit ArtVan.

The ArtVan has been providing its services to the Lewiston/Auburn Community since 2008, including Auburn Housing Developments, Center for Wisdom’s Women, St.Mary’s Group Homes and Youth MOVE Me. The ArtVan is a brightly colored van whose mission is to bring the arts to populations that otherwise might be without access to personal artistic expression, to inspire creativity, deepen relationships and open minds to new potential. Programs are designed to build self-esteem, strengthen local communities and enrich lives. For more information visit www.artvanprogram.org.
