PARIS — An Industry man was charged Monday with sexually assaulting a teenage girl in a vacant building in Mexico.
Christian A. Richards, 18, of 612 West Mills Road, is charged with Class A gross sexual assault. At the bail hearing Wednesday in 11th District Court, Assistant District Attorney Richard Beauchesne said Richards is accused of assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
Mexico police Lt. Roy Hodsdon said the arrest is the result of an incident that took place in a vacant building on Main Street. It occurred in late February, according to an Oxford County jailer.
Richards did not enter a plea and was released on $1,000 cash bail Wednesday evening. He was originally held on $5,000 bail.
As a condition of release, he Richards is not allowed contact with any girl under age 16.
His arraignment is set for May 8 in Oxford County Superior Court.
