LEWISTON —Vaudeville performer Randy Judkins will give a roving performance of magic and juggling during L/A Arts’ fundraiser reception Saturday, March 17, at the Franco-American Heritage Center.

The “Piano Men” concert featuring songs of the 1970s by Billy Joel and Elton John will follow the 6 p.m. reception for which food has been provided by Jasmine Cafe, The Library Cafe, Italian Bakery, Heather’s Bakery and Niky’s Greek Restaurant.

Performing will be a four-piece rock band made up of pianist/lead vocalist Joe Boucher, guitarist/back-up vocalist Christopher Eastburn, guitarist Gary Backstrom and drummer Steve Hodgkin.

The four musicians will perform with the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Lehmann.

Since 1975, Judkins has performed a one-person comedy, vaudeville, variety show. He has toured in more than 20 states as well as Canada and Europe. In 1989, he created “Full Esteem Ahead,” a performance piece for teachers and middle and high-school students on strategies for building self-esteem.

His “Laughing in the Face of Change” was written in 1994 as a motivational, interactive presentation for businesses and specialty groups.
