BRIDGTON — Lake Region Community Theatre will hold auditions Friday and Saturday, March 16-17, for its production of “Lionel Bart’s Oliver.” 

The Tony Award-winning musical, based on Dicken’s novel, “Oliver Twist,” includes songs “Consider Yourself,” “Food, Glorious Food,” “I’d Do Anything,” “Where is Love?” and “As Long As He Needs Me.”

The play, directed by Mary Bastoni-Rebmann, will run June 22-24 and June 29-July 1 at Deertrees Theatre in Harrison .

Auditions will be 6 to 9 p.m. March 16, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 17 at Stevens Brook Elementary School, 14 Francis Bell Drive.

Auditions for major roles, including Fagin, Oliver, Artful Dodger, Nancy, Bill Sykes, Bet, Mr. Bumble, Widow Corney, Noah Claypole, Mr. and Mrs. Sowerberry and Mrs. Bedwin, will occur at specific times. People auditioning need to call 671-3051 to schedule an appointment.

Anyone planning to audition for a major role should be prepared to read from the script, and to sing and dance. Prepare 16 bars of a song from musical theater; no pop tunes. Bring sheet music for the pianist.
