This nation was founded by men who were Christians. They were wise men who made provision for citizens to have, among other rights, the right to religious freedom. It has served the nation well for more than 200 years.
President Barack Obama does not believe that this is a Christian nation. He has said so.
The recent attack on the basic right, freedom of religion, forces religious institutions (that strongly oppose any form of contraception) to take part in it by providing insurance coverage to employees.
If that total disregard of a constitutional right is allowed, people had better be prepared for the loss of other rights.
It does not matter to which political party a person belongs, the issue surpasses that.
At a recent dinner I attended, a man who is a staunch Democrat was heard stating, “This is the first time in my whole life that I will vote for a Republican.”
That said a lot to me.
