LEWISTON — Alexina D. Theberge, of 18 Fox Run Drive, Lewiston, died on her 83rd birthday, Sunday, March 11, at Central Maine Medical Center.
Born in Auburn on March 11, 1929, she was the daughter of Arthur J. and Amanda L. St. Pierre Auger. Educated in Auburn schools, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of ’48.
On Feb. 20, 1954, she married Gerard J. Theberge. During their 58 years of marriage, she traveled extensively with her husband, visiting numerous countries. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her children first, and she stayed home to raise her family. During her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, reading, doing crossword puzzles and sitting in the swing chair with her husband. She also loved the ocean, and found special joy in the frequent visits from her grandchildren.
Besides her loving husband, of Lewiston, she is survived by two sons, Remi and wife, Patricia, of Litchfield and Marc and wife, Donna, of Lewiston; six daughters, Jeanne Morin and husband, Maurice, of Auburn, Therese Mercier and husband, Marcel, of Monmouth, Rachel Crookston and husband, David, of Greene, Lisa Shen and husband, Ben, of Auburn, Suzanne Levesque and husband, Dan, of Lewiston and Renee Barkley of New York; two brothers, Alphonse Auger of Auburn and Andre Auger and wife, Theresa, of Lewiston; two sisters, Anna Siteman of Portland and Alice Jacques and husband, Jean, of Monmouth; 10 grandchildren, Carey, Shelley, Lee, Alisson, Steven, Matthew, Troy, Nicole, Theressa, and Haley; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Auger; and three sisters, Alma Boisvert, Aline Comeau and Antonia Nadeau.
