SOUTH PARIS — Christine H. Weiss, 83, of South Paris died peacefully, Monday, March 12, with her family by her side.

She was born in Buckfield, Dec. 6, 1928, to Guy R. and Lucia K. (Spaulding) Chadbourne. Christine was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Portland, and later received her nursing degree in Boston.

She married William L. Weiss, Aug. 29, 1957, who passed away Nov. 30, 1996.

She was active in the American Legion Post 82 Women’s Auxiliary, where she held the post of chaplain and master of arms in Norway. She volunteered once a week at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris, for the past 13 years.

Christine loved to knit and crochet and enjoyed baking for the American Legion. She also enjoyed collecting antiques.

She is survived by her three children, William R. Weiss of Farmington, Robert P. Weiss of Oakland and Mary Lemieux of Connecticut; sister, Helen Jackson of Tennessee; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband; sisters, Ann and Beverly; and brothers, Russell and Lewis.
