LEWISTON — The public and all ages are invited to join The University of Southern Maine’s Franco-American Collection at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, March 16 for an hour of traditional French music, song and dance. The event takes place in room 170 of USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College, 51 Westminster St.

The event is led by members of the local community and anyone with a hidden talent for playing an instrument or for singing is welcome to join the fun. For those who might be less familiar with the French language, lyrics are provided for all songs.

People who attend are encouraged to contribute their own songs and stories, and some light refreshments will be served. Admission is free. In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed until Friday, March 23, at the same time and venue.
