AUBURN — Geraldine (Mayo) Vaillancourt of Sabattus, after a short and courageous battle with Leukemia, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family March 12, at Androscoggin Hospice House.
The daughter of John and Edwina Mayo, she leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years, Normand G. Vaillancourt; her devoted daughter, Maureen Hines of Sabattus; her furry companion, Oreo; four sisters and one brother, the Rev. Diana Mayo, Mary Ellen Wooley and Melissa Crone, all of St. Petersburg, Fla., Nancy Fabel (Daren) of Goldsboro, N.C., and Tim Mayo (Susan) of Aptos, Calif.; her beloved grandson, Nicholas Hines; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents and sister, Carol Anne Rousseau, predeceased her in death.
Gerry, the family matriarch, was always protective, generous and loving. She will be deeply missed.
The family is extremely grateful to Dr. Pandey and Hospice House for the care and devotion shown Gerry.
