LEWISTON — Funeral services were held Tuesday for Richard Obie at The Fortin Group Funeral Home. Pastors Steve DeGroft and Jonathan Jones of Lisbon Falls Baptist Church officiated at the service and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Two special songs, “A Closer Walk with Thee” and “Nearer My God to Thee” were played during the service and special words of remembrance were given family friend, Ed Boucher. Military Honors were provided at the cemetery by the Maine Funeral Honors Program personnel who played “taps” followed by formal presentation of the American flag, recognizing his military service, to his widow. Pallbearers were Stephen and Michael Obie, Paul and Jimmy Pleau and Mike and John Madore.
