SOUTH PARIS – The Western Maine chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine will host a public session Thursday night, March 15, on landowner relations and legislative updates.
Mark Latti, landowner relations representative from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, will talk about current issues at the 7 p.m. meeting in Room E116 at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School on Route 26. He will focus on landowner issues with hunters, ATVs and snowmobiles and possible solutions.
SWOAM President Rich Merk will discuss current legislation affecting landowners, including proposed changes to the Tree Growth tax law, the “takings” legislation and discontinued and abandoned roads.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Signs will be posted on entrance doors indicating the room location. Direct questions to Rich Merk at 627-4102.
