LEWISTON – Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice has announced that the Medicine Shoppe has registered for the Hospice House 5K Run & Remembrance Walk as their first corporate walking team.
“The Medicine Shoppe is participating in the Hospice House 5K Run & Remembrance Walk because we see the positive effect that the caregivers, physicians, nurses and volunteers have on so many people in our area,” said Richard Gregoire, public relations for the Medicine Shoppe. “By walking we are helping our community to share the love of their neighbors with one another, but want to make our fellow Mainers aware of the valuable work that Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice is conducting on our behalf for our families, friends and, one day possibly, ourselves. The Medicine Shoppe Team challenges all healthcare employers and employees to step up and support the HH 5K Run and Walk by forming a walking team”
The fourth annual HH 5K Run & Remembrance Walk will be held on May 20. This year the event will be held in three locations: Central Maine Community College in Auburn, Meeting House Park in Farmington and Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School track – Remembrance Walk only. Registration for the event is now open; visit www.ahch.org to register. This year there will be a new online giving tool that will allow participants to create their own giving page to share with family and friends.
Proceeds from the event are dedicated to supporting care at the Hospice House for patients who do not have adequate health insurance. In one year, 59 patients without adequate health insurance received care totaling more than $69,000.
