Something is happening to the country that I love so well. There seems to be a big lie spreading around, that we don’t need God to run a country; all we need is big government.

It has been proven false so many times — the socialists, the communists — why do people still believe that big lie? “God is not necessary. Just rely on the big government.”

Some people have such persuasive voices and they promise so many things; free this and free that and we, like children, fall into the trap.

The big lie right now is big government. Everything free is eventually paid for by, guess who, the taxpayers.

We are being told to blame the rich for the economic woes. That is part of the big lie. Those in favor of big government want to split the country into warring sections. Then people will be easier to lead.

All of the companies and hardworking businesses are what keep this country together. There is nothing wrong with making money. That is what we’re supposed to do — use our brains and skills to make money, and that is what makes jobs for people.

Big government officials can’t do that. All they do is pass the money around among themselves and then end up having it all.

I hope people will prove them wrong. We need to get back to the basic tenets of this country and its founders. We need to choose truth, not the big lie.
