LEWISTON — Louise Beauchesne Collette (Lou, mom, gram,) a resident at Roxbury Pond died on March 11, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with her family at her side.
Louise was born at Rumford Hospital, March 15, 1933, the daughter of Hector Beauchesne and Beatrice McIssac Beauchesne. Louise attended school in Rumford.
On May 3, 1958, she married Robert J. Collette and together raised four children. Louise, the youngest of 10 children, loved to ski, and was crowned Carnival Queen of the 34th annual Chisholm ski clubs Winter Carnival.
Louise worked at the Diamond Match Co., and also as an apple picker, abd was a member of the Bomberettes bowling teams for more than 40 years. Mom loved doing puzzles and word searches, playing cards, and in years past was a devoted Bingo player. Gram always loved big family gatherings with all the kids and grandchildren, loved playing outside, swimming in the pond, going on long rides on sunny days, traveling, board and yard games with grandchildren.
Ma loved the holidays, used to craft her own Easter baskets for all the grandkids and enjoyed dressing up on Halloween and trick or treating with them. Louise was a jokester, and loved pulling little pranks to make people laugh. Mom was always smiling, brightening up every room she walked into.
In spite of many trials and tribulations, Lou always looked on the bright side of everything. She was the happiest woman we ever knew. Mom always said her hands were cold, so she said she must have a warm heart, which she did. Louise was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend; and she was loved and will be missed by her family.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert J. Collette; three daughters, Rose Waugh-Povelite and her husband, Darren, Debra Belskis and her husband, Frankie and Becky Collette and her partner, Chuck Gannon; grandchildren, Gary Waugh II and wife, Ashley, and their son, Colin, Laura Waugh and boyfriend, Nathan, Jeffery Waugh and girlfriend, Nadine, and children, Elijah, Parker and Bella, Angela Collette, Dawn Collette and her children, Caden and Brody, Steven R. Collette and girlfriend, Kristen, Amber Theriault Kirkwood and husband, Steve and their son, James, Corey Theriault and Dakota Hoff; stepgrandchildren, Jamie Belskis and wife, Alisa, their girls, Maia and Taylor, and Shawn York and his children, Kaitlyn and Jacob; and many nieces and nephews.
Louise was predeceased by her parents; all her siblings; a baby girl; son, Steven A. Collette; and son-in-law, Gary P. Waugh Sr.
