AUBURN — Fernand G. Cote, 85, a resident of Riverside Drive, died unexpectedly Wednesday, march 14, at his home.
He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 14, 1926, the son of Gaudios and Alfreda (Lapointe) Cote. He was educated in Auburn schools and had been employed many years for the former Knapp Shoe. He later was employed with Central Maine Power, until his retirement in 1988.
He was a member of St. Louis Church of Auburn. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He also loved animals, especially his dog, JJ.
Fern touched many lives with his outgoing personality and will be sadly missed by all.
Survivors include his two brothers-in-law, Robert Chartier and Rodrick Cyr and wife, Cecile, all of Lewiston; one sister-in-law, Mona Bolduc of Auburn; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Helen Starbird of Auburn.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Rena Cyr, in 2007.
