NAPLES — Two armed men charged with invading a home and robbing the occupant of prescription narcotics remained in a Portland jail Friday night on $250 cash bail each.

James McCoy, 23, of Chipmunk Lane in Naples and Raymond Miller, 26, of Hancock Road in Casco were arraigned in a Portland court on one robbery charge each, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement Friday.

The two are accused of targeting a home at 100 Crooked Way “to steal prescription narcotics” and invading it shortly before midnight Tuesday, the news release said. One of the men “attempted to have the victim believe he was a Cumberland County law enforcement officer.”

The men were armed with a baseball bat and a handgun that turned out to be an authentic-looking CO2 pellet/BB gun, the Sheriff’s Office said. No one was injured.

One of the men was arrested after being stopped in a vehicle seen leaving the area; the second was arrested later, the statement said.
