Friendship club

JAY — Jay VFW Post 3335 Golden Friendship Club will reopen Wednesday, March 21, from 2 to 6 p.m. There will be an open mic, dance, door prizes and 50/50. It will be open every Wednesday.

Class auction

TURNER — Leavitt Area High School cafeteria will be the site of this year’s auction to benefit the Class of 2012 Project Graduation. The fundraising event will takes place on Saturday, March 24, with a preview at 9 a.m. and first call at 10 a.m.

Items will include vouchers for tree removal, firewood, pool water, tanning, meals, golf, vehicle care, a scuba class for two, orthopedic services, recording studio time and an overnight hotel stay with breakfast; tickets to the theater, cinema, Santa’s Village, Red Sox, Portland Pirates and the Downeaster; and articles ranging from a child-size table and chairs to baked goods to a Corian bathroom sink top.

Of particular interest to NBA followers are items autographed by Mario Chalmers and Jimmer Fredette. In addition, there will be a variety of theme baskets on display for raffle during the next few weeks and a silent auction.

The Auction Café will offer breakfast and lunch fare.
