PARIS — Firefighters fought a brush fire behind Oxford Hills Middle School on Monday afternoon.

The blaze, along the St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad track, burned about 1,200 square yards, according to the fire department. The Norway Police Department assisted in extinguishing the fire.

The call came in at around 3:30 and the fire was out in less than an hour. The cause is still under investigation, and the Maine Forest Service has been notified.
