Between $100 and $200 damage was done Thursday morning to the building and contents at 21 Lincoln Street, Lewiston, owned and operated by Nathan Goldberg as a junk shop. Sometimes they smoke in there. I think probably some of those fellows set the fire. The city ought to do something to get rid of so many bums.”

Representatives of an engineering firm on Thursday night will explain their recommendation that the Town of Mechanic Falls tear down its municipal building to make room for a new one. The issue is expected to run into some opposition at an upcoming special town meeting from residents who say a new office building would be too expensive to construct, and from others who say the town should keep the former high school for sentimental reasons.
