WINTERPORT — Rene J. Richard, 86, died Monday, March 19, in Winterport. He was formerly of Mexico and Eustis.

He was born in Fitchburg, Mass., April 18, 1925, a son of Dennis and Regina (Thibodeau) Richard. He attended school in Massachusetts. He worked for Oxford Paper Co. in Rumford as a helper on the digesters.

Rene was married in Fitchburg, Mass., March 8, 1943, to Gladys Martin, who died in Bangor on Jan. 9, 2000.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Richard and his wife, Linda, of Carmel and Rene Richard and his companion, Rebecca Huntsinger, of Conyers, Ga.; a daughter, Crystal Marston and her husband, Eric, of Roxbury; a grandson, Scott Richard of Studio City, Calif.; and three sisters, Yvonne Rivard and her husband, Joseph, Dorothy Beliveau of Fitchburg, Mass., and Loretta Fortier of Gardiner, Mass.
