TOGUS — Robert G. Demers, 73, of Auburn, passed away on March 20, at Togus, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born Jan. 19, 1939, to parents, Aime and Aline Demers of Auburn. He worked as a machinist for 12 years at Hamilton and Son in Auburn and 17 years at Wahlco Metroflex Inc. in Lewiston.

His hobbies were fishing, gardening and making things for the house.

Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dolores (Dolly); his son, Steven of Lewiston; a sister, Pauline (Polly) Alperman of Florida; eight nieces; 10 nephews; five cousins; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and mother-in-law, Carmen Zadakis.

He was predeceased by his parents, Aime and Aline Demers of Auburn; brother, Don of Lewiston; and nephew, John Polly of Auburn.
