AUGUSTA — Medicare fraud prevention volunteer training is being provided by Spectrum Generations and the Maine Senior Medicare Patrol Program.
The three-day introduction to the Medicare and MaineCare systems will be held on April 2, 4 and 11 at the Prince of Peace Church on Eastern Avenue, Route 17.
The best way to prevent any type of fraud is through education. Once trained, Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) volunteers can then help Medicare beneficiaries better understand the services they are entitled to and identify and report discrepancies in claims and other forms of fraud, waste and abuse.
For more information about the SMP Program or to sign up, call Pat Greenleaf, Spectrum Generations senior medicare patrol coordinator, at 623-0764, ext. 102. Space is limited.
