LIVERMORE FALLS — RSU 73 directors on Thursday appointed Eileen Miazga of Strong as adult education director effective through June 30, 2013.

The appointment is contingent on proper certification and Maine Department of Education fingerprint status.

Miazga’s salary will be $46,500 with six years experience.

She is a former convenience store owner in Strong and was a founding member of the Strong Area Business and Civic Alliance. After she closed her store, she went to work at Franklin County Adult Education for six years. She has worked as a career counselor for the last four years for Western Maine Community Action at the CareerCenter in Wilton.

In other appointments, school directors voted 9-3 to appoint Wilbur Shardlow as girls tennis coach at Spruce Mountain High School. Opposed were Dan DiPompo, Darcie Comstock and Vickie McLeod, all of Jay.

The board approved the following appointments unanimously:

Shardlow as boys tennis coach at the high school; David Frey as boys varsity baseball coach at the middle school; Albert Marston as educational technician II at Livermore Elementary School; Ron Leclerc as varsity softball co-coach at middle school; and Tom Fortier as varsity softball coach at middle school.
