CANTON — Clara Belle Thibault, 102, formerly of Rumford, died Saturday, March 24, at Victorian Villa, with her beloved friend, Melinda by her side.

She was born in Ingonish, Nova Scotia, Oct. 8, 1909, a daughter of Angus and Ann (Canary) McIsaac. Clara came to the U.S. at the age of 16 to live with her aunt in Boston, Mass., where she met her husband, Felix Earl Thibault. Having no children, they spent their summers traveling, taking nieces and nephews on day trips to special places.

She loved ball room dancing and playing bridge. After her husband, Felix died, she moved to Rumford to stay with her niece, Joanne Batherson and then nephew, Charles Dugas.

Clara held dear many special friends, Melinda Ellis who made a special impact on her quality of life, as well as her friends, Anne Touchette, Paula Perry and Linda Roberts.

Surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Felix Earl Thibault.
