NORTH ANSON — Craig Alec Nile, 32, died Friday, March 23, at home with his loving wife and family by his side after fighting a courageous three year battle with lung cancer.

He was born in Farmington, March 21, 1980, the son of Dan and Mona Ann (Reckards) Nile.

He attended and graduated from Carrabec High School in 1998. On Aug. 6, 2008, he married Heather E. Daggett in Anson. Craig was a self-employed logger and enjoyed mud running, race car driving, watching NASCAR, fishing, hunting, camping at Big Eddie, 4-wheeling, and putting models together. He especially loved spending time with his family and was devoted to his pets.

Craig is survived by his wife, Heather E. (Daggett) Nile of North Anson; his father, Dan Nile and wife, Ellie, of North Anson; mother, Mona Nile and husband, David Farrington, of Jay; two daughters, Shanea Nile of Waterville and Rylee Nile of Chesterville; a son, Craig Scott Nile of Chesterville; four brothers, Daniel Nile and wife, Jen, of North Anson, David Farrington of Jay, Travis Yahn and wife, Sarah (Dyar) of Fairfield and Eddie Yahn and wife, Paula, of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister Brittany Nile of North Anson; maternal grandmother, Linda Reckards of Livermore; many uncles, aunts, nieces and cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Norma Nile; and maternal grandfather, Robert Reckards.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Redington-Fairview Hospital special care unit and Maine Medical Center in Portland for their wonderful care and support during Craig’s illness. Also, a very special thank-you to Aunt Sissy and Craig’s wife, Heather, for the good care and love she provided him.
