The Rockin’ Recons, a popular band of Lewiston-Auburn’s PAL Hop 1960s heyday, will perform with special guest Justin Lindsay Friday, March 30, as part of the Franco-American Heritage Center’s club series. Since reuniting after a 20-year hiatus in 1987, the original band continued to play until some members moved on and new members were added. Today’s Rockin’ Recons are Bob Blais, lead guitar and vocals, who played with the group Patches in the 1970s; Ron Vachon, guitar and lead vocals, who also played with the Royal Knights in the 1960s; Denny Blais, son of Bob Blais, on bass and lead vocals; Mike Asseslin, keyboard, bass and vocals, who also performed with Truckin and Vehicle in the 1960s-’70s; Doug Doyer, drummer, who also played with Starfire and Cheex in the 1980s; and Roger Blais, guitar, percussion and vocals, a founding member of the Innkeepers. Eleven-year-old Lindsay, Vachon’s grandson, has been playing guitar since age 7. The dance party in Heritage Hall, for those 21-plus, will begin at 8 p.m. For tickets, $10, go to www.brownpapertickets.com/event/226813
