DIXFIELD — The Police Department handled 29 incidents during the past week, and 16 the week before. Among them were the following.
* Patrick Walsh, 56, of Roxbury Road, Mexico, struck a deer as he was driving a 1996 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle along Roxbury Road, Mexico, at 5:20 a.m., March 21. The Dixfield officer provided mutual aid to the Mexico Police Department and handled the accident. The deer was killed. The SUV sustained $1,000 damage.
* A Dixfield 17-year-old boy was issued a summons at 2 p.m. March 23 on charges of theft of a 1992 Toyota from the parking lot of Dirigo High School, theft of an iPod and driving without a license.
The truck was later located. It had been damaged and is currently impounded due to further investigation. The juvenile was released to the custody of his parents and is under house arrest, Chief Richard Pickett said. The boy is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on May 8.
* A resident reported at 11:30 a.m. March 19 that oil had flowed down the road from the bottom of Morrison Hill to the intersection with Route 2 and the Common Road. Pickett said the Maine Department of Transportation responded to clean up the oil with pads and sand.
