LIVERMORE FALLS — Merle “Buster” Allen Jr., 53, a resident of Richardson Avenue, Livermore Falls, died Tuesday, March 27, unexpectedly at his home following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 5, 1958, in Lewiston, the son of Merle and Eleanor “Patricia” (Eaton) Allen Sr. He was a 1976 graduate of Leavitt Area High School in Turner.

Following graduation, he went to work as an apprentice in the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 716 in Augusta. He was still currently employed as a Journeyman Pipefitter through the union.

On June 11, 1983, he married Mary Kelley of Livermore Falls. He was a member of Local 716 in Augusta and Hillside Sports Club in Jay. Buster enjoyed time spent with his family and friends and was a loving and devoted, husband, father and grandfather. He especially loved the times with his wife, Mary, traveling to Jamaica and Aruba.

He is survived by his parents, Merle and Eleanor “Patricia” Allen Sr. of Rangeley; his wife of 28 years, Mary Allen of Livermore Falls; his children, Jennifer Colby and her husband, Cimeron, of South Paris, Jason Allen of San Diego, Calif., and Tracy Allen and her fiance, Charles Urquhart, of Hallowell; three grandchildren, Jayden, Julia and Camden Colby; his sisters, Debby Boothby of Hartford and Donna Allen and companion, Nancy Caron, of Sidney; his brothers, Robert Allen and his wife, Tammy, of Buckfield and Timothy Allen and his wife, Donna, of Rangeley; his mother-in-law, Patricia Kelley of Turner; brother-in-law, Victor Kelley and wife, Debbie, of Eliot; sisters-in-law, Patricia Pease and her husband, Joseph, of Turner, Linda Daddona and her husband, George, of Mechanic Falls, Kathleen Nielson of Watervliet, N.Y., Elizabeth Osborne and her husband, Robert, of Plymouth, Mass., Julia Parker and her husband, Rick, of Livermore and Fran Kelley and companion, Stephanie Von Glinsky, of Durham; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, John and Joseph Kelley.
