POLAND — The RSU 16 committee will meet Monday, April 2, at 6 p.m. in the district’s Central Office to discuss personnel issues, Chairman Mary Ella Jones said.

Jones said she could not officially comment on whether the session would address the decision Feb. 27 to place Superintendent Dennis Duquette and Business Manager Rick Kusturin on leaves of absence.

On Feb. 29 the committee hired J. Michael Wilhelm to serve as interim superintendent. He began work March 5.

Jones said in the wake of these events the committee is conducting a review of RSU 16 management and that the committee intends to present the findings of the review as soon as it can.

Jones said the committee will be meeting with Bruce Smith of the Portland law firm of Drummond Woodsum, who was hired by the committee to review RSU 16 management.

Jones said that Smith had hired a private investigator to help in the matter and that she had no idea what Smith might be presenting in his report.
