LEWISTON — Community Concepts’ Big Brothers Big Sisters Program is sponsoring its annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake, the mentoring program’s largest annual fundraiser.
Bowlers will raise pledge money to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program on Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1, at Sparetime Recreation. The weekend gives community members a chance to support the mission of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program.
Area businesses have supported Big Brothers Big Sisters with donations. Items include Portland Sea Dogs tickets, Red Sox and New England Patriots autographed memorabilia, gift certificates to restaurants across the state and gift baskets.
Gather friends, family members and/or co-workers and reserve a lane by calling 333-6404. Each bowler is required to raise $35 in order to participate.
For every $100 raised, bowlers will be issued an entry form into the grand prize drawing: a flat-screen television. Teams and individuals raising the largest amounts in pledges will be recognized and awarded prizes.
Every dollar raised through Bowl for Kids’ Sake directly funds the mentoring programs in Androscoggin and Oxford counties and helps to maintain and sustain local mentoring relationships.
In 2011, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America launched a national campaign, Start Something™, inviting all people to get involved with the organization by donating, sharing stories of mentoring successes or volunteering.
Funds raised allow Big Brothers Big Sisters to continue their community and site-based mentoring programs, which provide ongoing assistance for mentors, mentees and families to help sustain long successful relationships unique to its programs.
