RUMFORD — Bernice “Bunny” Kelley, 94, of Pine Street, died Wednesday, March 28, at her residence, with loving family at her side.

She was born in Bemis, Aug. 28, 1917, a daughter of Eli and Sophie (Arsenault) Gaudet. Bunny was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1936.

She married Wilfred Kelley on June 1, 1940; he passed away on Dec. 4, 1961.

Bunny and her brother, Eli Gaudet Jr. built and operated the Cozy Inn Nursing Home. She then was employed as a secretary for the Rumford Town Manager for several years, and later secretary at St. Athanasius-St. John Church for many years.

Bunny was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior. She was past regent of the Daughters of Isabella and past president of the Maine Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Her greatest joy was going to her camp at Worthley Pond in the summer.

Surviving are her children, William Kelley and wife, Geraldine, of Andover, Kenneth Kelley of Mexico, Anna Kelley of Rumford, Cynthia Kelley of Rumford and Jo Ann Frechette and husband, Antonio, of Wakefield, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Kerrie Meyers and husband, Rusty, Kristin Kelley and companion, Jay Purcell, Kathleen Tilton and husband, Robert, Bryan Kelley, Bruce Kelley, Barry Kelley, Kim Jalbert and husband, Scott, Melissa Swan and husband, Richard and Erin Kelley and fiance, Chad Haynes; and nine great-grandchildren, Nick Jalbert, Matthew Jalbert, Courtney Kelley, Ryan Kelley, Brianna Swan, Savannah Swan, Ali Tilton, Charlie Tilton and Avery Tilton.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Wilfred, two sons Robert Kelley in 2000 and Lawrence Kelley in 2005, a daughter in law Marie Viger Kelley in 1993, and three brothers, Jack, Bob and Eli Gaudet Jr.
