FARMINGTON — Local Rotarians are busily finalizing details of this year’s edition of the popular “Price Is Right” game show, complete with a showcase showdown and many smaller prizes, drawings and opportunities to win.
The theme for this year’s ninth annual show is “New England Sports.” Tickets are now available.
The gala, scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, March 31, is expected to again fill the Mt. Blue High School auditorium in Farmington. Doors will open a half an hour before. It is recommended that tickets be obtained in advance because numbers are usually limited at the door.
Historically, the grand showcases have included such things as living room sets, sports gear packages and exciting vacation opportunities, and this year should be no exception. Everyone who attends this year also will have a chance to win a large-screen TV. The best-dressed New England sports fans will have an opportunity to win prizes.
Kent Wiles will return as emcee “Bob Barker,” and Roger Lambert will describe the prizes to be won. The Rotarians will be assisted by enthusiastic Interact and Rotaract youths to guarantee an enjoyable experience for all.
The audience will enjoy six games based on the popular television game show, including the showcase showdown, musical interludes, door prize drawings, refreshments and more. There are always some surprises and more than a few zany costumes.
The six major games this year will include Queen of Hearts, Beat the Clock, Plinko, Punch Out, Yodeler and Pick a Number. Contestants win a prize to get on stage and go from there.
Tickets are $10 and available now from Rotarian Tom Sawyer or at County Seat Realty, 778-2755; Franklin County Animal Shelter, 778-2638; Ron’s Market, 778-3344; Douin’s Market, 778-4111; Deborah Harris, 779-9000; Tom Sawyer, 778-2900; Jeff Harris, 491-6001; or other Rotary members.
