DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Androscoggin Historical Society needs a good, used laptop to mate with its LCD projector for our monthly public program. Perhaps someone has one they recently replaced with a newer model with more bells and whistles. We would be glad to have the one that they have not yet gotten around to getting rid of.

The society needs one that has a CD tray, a USB port, and suitable software and memory to handle PowerPoint presentations. An equipment donation would ease our strained budget.

If you might be able to help, please contact me. Thank you. — Annette Dorey, AHS program chairwoman, dorey@gwi.net, 795-6060

DEAR SUN SPOTS: You have helped so many people over the years that I thought I would give it a try.

I’m a senior citizen living in a residential facility, which has a beautiful patio. The only things lacking are flowers. Now that it is spring I was wondering if anyone with perennials in their flower garden that need thinning out would share some with us.

I may be reached at 784-7732, If no answer, please leave a message. Thank you. — C.M. via email

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are presently looking for retired educators in the area who might like to attend our annual Retired Educators Recognition Night, sponsored by Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international society of key women educators.

This year it is to be held on Tuesday, May 8, at the Auburn Middle School cafeteria at 6 p.m., when a delicious homemade dessert will be served. At 6:30 entertainment will be provided by Mitchell Clyde Thomas, a popular entertainer in the area.

We hope that many retired educators (male or female) will join us for a free, entertaining evening. We look forward to seeing you.

Thank you, Sun Spots, for all the wonderful work that you do. You are great! — No Name via email

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A few weeks ago Shaw’s had coupons for New Balance printed on the back of the sales receipt. I had saved a coupon and then I lost it.

Would anybody have saved that week’s sales receipt? I would really like to have two of the New Balance coupons. Thank you in advance. If you have two coupons to share, I will email you my mailing address. — Camilla, violetcar94@yahoo.com
