WESTBROOK — Boys of Andy Valley Gymnastics in Lewiston competed well recently at the Gymnastics State Championships.
The Level 4 team took home first place in the team competition. In the 6-7 age division, Hunter Brissette placed second in the All Around. He won first on floor exercise and rings, second on high bar and third on pommel horse, vault and parallel bars. Ethan Littel finished third in all-around. He also placed second on floor, pommel horse, rings, vault and parallel bars and finished fifth on high bar. Sam Maunsell placed sixth in the all-around, vault and paralklel bars as well as fifth on floor exercise, pommel horse and rings.
In the 8-9 year old division, Nick Moreau placed second in all-around, vault and parallel bars while taking first on floor exercise and third on pommel horse and rings.
In Level 5 (age 10-11), Jeremy Carter finished second in all-around, floor exercise, rings, parallel bars and high bar while taking third on pommel horse and fourth on vault.
Elijah Chasse finished ninth in the all-around of the 7-9 age division. He also took third on vault.
In the Level 8 division, Joey Baumann took first place in all-around, floor, pommel horse, rings, vault and high bar and second on parallel bars. Connor Jackson placed second in all-around, floor, pommel horse, rings, vault and high bar and first in parallel bars.
Josh Abrams won floor exercise, pommel horse and rings in the Level 10 division.
This meet was also a qualifier for the New England Championships that will be held in Massachusetts in April. Congratulations to Josh Abrams, Joey Baumann, Connor Jackson and Jeremy Carter who will be representing Andy Valley and the state of Maine at that event.
