Spring event at Pettengill Park

AUBURN — Auburn Parks and Recreation will celebrate spring with a free event featuring games and activities from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the Hasty Community Center gym, Pettengill Park.

Kids ages 10 and under can join in games such as pin the tail on the bunny, egg spoon relay, cake walk, egg toss, jelly bean guess, bean bag toss and more. Everyone is a winner.

An egg hunt will begin outside at 1:30 p.m., weather permitting. Ages 1-3 and 4-6 will have separate egg hunt locations.

Lunch, learn for caregivers

LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free lunch and learn for cancer caregivers. “From a Loved One’s Perspective” will take place Monday, April 9, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at CMMC, 12 High St., in conference room D.

Being the primary support person can be like living a physical and emotional marathon. Hear the experiences of three caregivers as they share experiences, lessons learned and tips for caring for their loved ones and taking care of themselves. Light lunch will be provided.

Golden Age to meet for social

AUBURN — The Golden Age Group of the IHM Parish will meet for a social hour at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Sacred Heart Church, followed by KFC chicken pot pies, cole slaw and desserts, for $6. Reservations may be made by calling 576-4082 by April 8. New members are always welcome to join.

LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free workshop for anyone interested in expressing themselves through music. “Music for Life” will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at CMMC, 12 High St., in conference room H.

Music therapist Kate Beever will lead an opportunity for self expression, stress relief and finding community through music. Activities will include drumming, music imagery and music sharing/discussion. No musical experience necessary.

Society holding antiques night

LISBON FALLS — On Wednesday, April 11, The Lisbon Historical Society will host its annual Antiques Night at the MTM Center, 18 School St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event starts at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Participants are invited to bring antiques for show and tell, or simply join as a listener.

All attendees will have the opportunity to show their antique as well as tell a story about it. This is not an event for appraisals. Refreshments will be served following the event.

Kindergarten registration

MONMOUTH — Registration for children from Monmouth entering kindergarten this fall that have not previously been in the pre-K program will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, April 11 and 25, at the Henry L. Cottrell School.

Children must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 15. A copy of the child’s original birth certificate, Social Security card and health record including immunization dates will be needed. The child will be checked for height, weight, vision and hearing.
