JAY — The Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce will hold its April breakfast meeting from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday, April 6, at LaFleur’s Restaurant.

This month’s breakfast sponsor is Androscoggin Bank. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to the chamber office at 897-6755 by Wednesday, April 4.

Barry L. Kohler, Androscoggin Bank’s director of Trust & Wealth Management, will give a presentation titled “Beginning to Think About Exiting Your Business.”

Kohler, a lawyer and Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) practitioner, has extensive experience assisting individuals and families with life transitions, including lifetime financial planning, cash flow and retirement planning, estate and wealth transfer planning, investments, insurance and charitable giving.

He is a frequent author and presenter to both professional and lay audiences about a wide array of planning and legal topics. Realizing that most business owners are more focused on day-to-day operations than when and how they will exit their business, Kohler emphasizes that without planning, an owner is unlikely to optimize the value of the business and assure its continuity.

April’s Member in the Spotlight is Dr. Patrick Keiran, owner of Keiran Chiropractic in Jay. As the first chiropractor in Maine to offer Koren Specific Technique, he will discuss his specialty and some of the results it generates.

Committee reports will include a progress report by Tim Madden, chairman of the golf tournament, on preparations for the fifth annual 18-hole scramble held at Maple Lane Golf Course in Livermore. The tournament proceeds support the chamber’s scholarship fund, which provides $500 awards to six Spruce Mountain High School seniors.

Darryl Brown, chairman of the Legislative Committee, will give a legislative update, including a report on the Maine State Chamber of Commerce’s Business Day at the State House.
