NORWAY — Oxford Hills Music and Performing Arts Association will hold auditions for “The Senator Wore Pantyhose” on Monday and Tuesday, April 9-10.
The failing presidential campaign of “Honest Gabe” Sandalson comes to the Sluckup Inn in Sluckup, Pa., and Gabe’s manager, Tom, will do almost anything to keep his candidate in the public eye. That includes acquiring the endorsement of the leaders of the People’s Ministry of our Savior Club, Jim and Fanny May Takker.
When the Takkers insist on meeting Mrs. Sandalson, who’s off delivering a women’s enpowerment speech, Tom convinces Gabe to masquerade as his own wife. Meanwhile, bank robbers Paddy McMutton and Tony Pinella return to the inn to collect the money that Paddy hid there 10 years ago. Newsman Don Blather senses a story and finds more than he expected.
Auditions will be at 6:30 p.m. at Guy E Rowe School on Main Street.
“The Senator Wore Pantyhose” will be presented June 14-24 at the Norway Grange Theater on Whitman Street.
