Gallery exhibit opening tonight

BETHEL — Gould Academy will host the work of Niccole Ugay at the Owen Art Gallery this spring. The show, called “Reflections of the Dreamt Self,” will open Thursday, April 5, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Ugay hails from Fullerton, Calif. She is the senior textile and graphic designer at Kellwood, where she develops new graphic art for a range of brands and products, including Lamb and Flag, Candies, Jolt, Baby Phat, XOXO, Rewind and My Michelle.

Bethel Seniors to meet

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet for their meeting and dinner at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Funky Red Barn. The menu will be fish or prime rib. Reservations are required by calling Caroline Gould at 824-3226 or Arlene Lowell at 824-2877 with meal choice. Price of dinner is $11.95. The speaker will be Joel Speakman.

Churches join for services

RUMFORD — On Thursday and Friday this week the Rumford United Methodist Church and the Mexico UCC (Green Church) will combine for two services. The Maundy Thursday service will be held at the Rumford United Methodist Chapel on Linnell Street at 7 p.m. April 5. Holy Communion will be concelebrated by pastors Carol Stevens and Izzy Nash-Radford.

The Good Friday service will be held at the Mexico UCC at 7 p.m. April 6. The public is invited to attend.

Sunrise service to be celebrated

RUMFORD — The Easter Morning Sunrise Service will be celebrated on April 8 at 6 a.m. in the parking lot of the Mountain Valley Middle School led by members of Holy Savior Church. Following the service, a breakfast will be served at the United Methodist Church Chapel on Linnell Street. All are invited.

Princesses, princes invited

RUMFORD — A royal party for princes and princesses will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at the American Legion.

Girls will have nails and make-up done. Boys will have races. There will also be crafts, games, lunch, a royal parade and drawings. Participants are invited to wear their favorite royal attire.

The cost is $10 per child. Lunch for adults is $3. Pictures will be available for $2.

A free picture will be included if tickets are purchased by April 25.

The event is sponsored by Cancer Crusaders Relay for Life.
