RICHMOND — William “Bill” Farwell died unexpectedly March 31, at his home in Richmond.

He was born April 17, 1966. Bill was raised in Westbrook and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1984. Bill was an avid sports fan, played many sports in school and later coached softball in Westbrook, Bridgton and Richmond.

Bill was a member of the SAL American Legion Post 132 in Richmond. Bill spent the last 12 years making friends through legion events and beano. Many thanks to all of you for making these years happy ones for Bill.

Bill will be joining his mom, Janet Shirley, dad, Cecil Shirley and his beloved cat, Smokey (whom Bill had for 16 years).

Bill will be greatly missed by his family, Mary Avery of Minot, Nancy Soule of Freeport and big brother, Dan Farwell of Casco. Bill has several nieces and nephews who he loved and helped raise, Candy, John, T.J., Crissy, Jason and Emily, as well as all the other kids Bill has helped through the years. I hope that Bill’s memory will live on in all of you. Bill was the best brother/uncle in the world. We love and miss you Bill.
